New Queensland Labor Treasurer backs mining and agriculture

Queensland's new Labor Treasurer Cameron Dick has distanced himself from former left faction treasurer Jackie Trad by praising the mining and agricultural sector as saviours of the state economy through the COVID-19 crisis.

Mr Dick, who leads the right faction within Queensland Labor, made an early distinction from Ms Trad, who built a reputation on stymying major mining projects such as Adani and setting out tougher vegetation laws for the state's farmers.
