Mining explorer turned telecommunications and internet holding company, Min-Tech 8, intends to buy its way into the carrier business by acquiring a stake in commercial data carrier, Horizon Group.

Horizon, which has a nationwide data network specialising in e-commerce, internet and multimedia services, was Australia's ninth telco to be granted a carrier's license.
