Miners warn of bad prospects
While large miners have been vocal about their expectations of a downturn in fortunes should the proposed resource tax go through, many smaller explorers also have concerns.
For a brief period after the global financial crisis, fear disappeared from the streets of West Perth, home to many of the country’s mineral exploration companies.
Having battened down the hatches for the best part of 12 months, early last year they emerged with renewed optimism, raising vast amounts of capital to re-initiate drilling programs and push stalled projects forward.
