A slew of prominent NSW-based lobbying outfits are beefing up the number of Labor staffers in their ranks and assembling teams of “Albo Whisperers” as they prepare for an all-but certain Labor re-election in Victoria and approach a NSW state election in 2023.

In Sydney, Liberal powerbroker and lobbyist Michael Photios has hired Anthony Albanese’s former senior adviser and caucus liaison Tom Kenny to work alongside Julia Gillard’s former press secretary Darrin Barrett in what rivals have dubbed the Premier State’s “Albo Whispering” team.
