Stuart Irvine is looking forward to a break. It’s been almost 10 years since the British-born executive left the UK for Sydney to take the helm at Lion. And this week, the executive walked out of the 180-year-old drinks giant’s headquarters for the last time as part of a succession plan in place for more than two years.

His tenure at the brewer responsible for Tooheys, Little Creatures, Furphy and XXXX Gold has been characterised by huge asset sales and purchases.
