The sharemarket's darling of the past fortnight, Helix Resources NL, has raised $13.4 million through a share placement to bankroll at least two years of exploration on its gold find near Lake Everard in South Australia.

Helix yesterday placed 4.2 million shares at $3.25 each to a range of institutional investors, through its brokers J B Were & Son.
