Haoma Mining NL shares, a favourite punting stock of Australia's business and Liberal Party elite, yesterday enjoyed a brief flurry after the discovery of diamonds in Western Australia.

Haoma, which has sought gold in WA's remote Pilbara region for a decade or more, may have struck it rich after South Africa's De Beers group reported it had found diamonds on Haoma's territory.
