Greens kill off push to kneecap Labor’s super disclosure laws

The Greens have killed off moves to kneecap Labor’s new superannuation disclosure laws, declining to join a crossbench push to disallow a controversial new rule allowing super funds to provide less information to members about payments to unions.

Under new regulations announced last week, funds will no longer need to provide itemised information on marketing, as well as payments to unions and industry bodies in their annual members meeting notices. Funds will now only need to provide an aggregate figure for these expenses.
