Ted Gowing, the former chairman and managing director of iconic Sydney menswear retailer Gowings, had three rules for business.
The first two - "when you're on a good thing, stick to it" and "don't waste money" - helped the 137-year-old business carve out a highly successful niche selling socks, undies and everyday apparel to generations of Australian men from its landmark store on Sydney's George Street.
