Wesfarmers has warned the West Australian government against bowing to mounting pressure to overturn an export ban for onshore gas, saying any future shortfalls of the fuel will jeopardise current and future green mineral processing projects.
The WA Labor government is developing and modelling options for a new onshore gas policy following calls from companies, including billionaire Chris Ellison’s Mineral Resources, to overturn the export ban to spur international investment.
