Councils covering many of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs are the slowest in NSW to approve development applications, a new official database shows, fuelling accusations that nimbyism is worsening the housing crisis.

The Minns Labor government on Thursday launched an online league table that provides searchable information on the number of development applications, the total value of the work, and the average time between lodgment and determination.
