Visa crackdown halves student numbers from India, Nepal, Philippines

Visas issued to students from five of Australia’s seven largest source countries have plummeted in the past financial year, with India, Nepal and the Philippines showing about half the count of 2022-23.
Meanwhile, approved student visas for Pakistan and Colombia collapsed by about two-thirds over the year.
