Victoria not ready to lift gas moratorium, says Auditor-General
Victoria is not equipped to end the moratorium on gas fracking because government departments haven't done enough research into the risks, the state's financial watchdog said in a blow to the state's energy and manufacturing industry.
Victorian Auditor-General John Doyle said the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources had not identified the full range of risks for Victoria, nor comprehensively assessed the likelihood and consequences of these risks.
