Popular holiday spots on Victoria's Great Ocean Road, the Grampians and parts of Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs are at the highest risk of major financial loss from bushfire anywhere in the country, new analysis shows.

Data on the relative national bushfire risk to commercial and residential property by postcode puts potential losses highest in the Grampians mountain range gateway township of Halls Gap, followed by locations including Mount Buller, Jamieson, Shepparton and Warburton.
