Queensland health authorities have confirmed a third woman has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The woman was linked to the two women who had returned from Melbourne via Sydney last week and had also tested positive for COVID-19.

A list of half a dozen restaurants, cafes and a church have been released by health authorities as they frantically attempt to do contact tracing to stop a coronavirus cluster from forming.

Police are conducting a criminal investigation into whether the two women lied on their border passes when returning to Queensland. The third woman is 22 years old, while the first two women are 19 years old.

There are now eight active coronavirus cases in Queensland, with 1079 total confirmed cases.
