Union says Morrison’s forestry plan won’t cut it on jobs

The forestry union has slammed Scott Morrison’s plan for timber jobs as “doing nothing” to address job security and the industry’s biggest challenges as the Prime Minister jetted into Tasmania on the last stop of his whistle-stop tour of blue-collar manufacturing seats.

Mr Morrison sought to wedge Labor on forestry policy on Thursday, pitching the Coalition as the only party that supports Tasmania’s logging industry and announcing $219.5 million to “secure” 73,000 existing forestry jobs.
