- NSW has recorded a huge jump in cases overnight, with 633 new infections, three more deaths, and more cases appearing in the regions.
- Victoria recorded 24 new local cases. Among the state’s 246 active cases, 56 are aged under the age of 9 years old and 55 are aged between 10-19.
- The ACT has recorded 22 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, bringing the outbreak to 67 cases.
- Labor’s finance spokeswoman Katy Gallagher revealed her teenage daughter tested positive for COVID-19 and blamed the Morrison government for letting down Australian children in the slow vaccine rollout.
- Australia’s fully vaccinated rate is now 27.50 per cent and nearly 50 per cent of the eligible population over 16 have had at least one shot.
