Only two things could get the Yes camp over the line
Yes hasn’t led a major published opinion poll in more than three months, and for over a year, support for the Voice has declined at an accelerating rate.
A few days out from the referendum, opinion polls all point in the same direction. While polls are only ever snapshots in time, it is hard to see how the Yes campaign can get over the line on current trends, let alone produce a result that unites the country in favour of the Indigenous Voice to parliament.
Even with a strong finish, the task is enormous for Yes. Perhaps, at best, the campaign could fall over the line with a slender win, while splitting the country down the middle. The worst outcome for Yes is a country united against its proposition to change the Constitution.
