Time running out as incumbents’ curse strikes Labor
According to today’s poll, 42 per cent of voters think our economy will be weaker with Trump back in the White House. It’s a grim portent for Anthony Albanese.
Today’s The Australian Financial Review/Freshwater Strategy poll suggests time is running out for Labor to reverse a slide into minority government when the federal election is held next year.
The poll shows the Coalition maintaining its 51 per cent to 49 per cent two-party-preferred lead over Labor. Nearly two-thirds of voters continue to feel the country is headed in the wrong direction under the Albanese government. The Coalition also has a commanding lead when voters are asked which party they trust to manage their top concerns, which, not surprisingly, are the cost of living, housing, and the economy.
