Australia’s new quintet cabinet was sworn in early on Monday morning and change is already afoot in the national capital.
The ink barely dry on his commission from the governor-general and with the government jet spooling its engines for a day-one dash to Tokyo, Anthony Albanese wanted Australians to notice the flags.
Having been called to the Blue Room at Parliament House for the new prime minister’s first media conference, the Canberra press gallery were in place just in time to see the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags being installed behind the podium.
