Teals issue tax cuts warning to Labor
Anthony Albanese will reject any deal with the Greens that would further water down benefits of the stage three tax cuts for high-income earners, as teal MPs warned some of those seeing their benefits halved had been relying on post-July 1 changes for mortgage repayments and school fees.
As they called for other forms of assistance and a broad review of the taxation system, independent MPs Allegra Spender, Kylea Tink and Monique Ryan told The Australian Financial Review not all losers from Labor’s changes were wealthy enough not to feel the halving of an expected $9075 tax cut.
