The Morrison government will on Monday announce a further easing of border restrictions to bring back international students and help fill skills gaps, with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg saying worker shortages are the biggest problem for almost every sector of the Australian economy.

The government has been working on plans to bring in-demand skilled migrants back into the country, quarantine free, by Christmas, possibly from countries such as Korea and Japan.
