Bushfire death toll reaches 33, as NSW plans state memorial
The NSW government will hold a state memorial to commemorate the losses from a devastating fire season, after three firefighters were killed and six volunteers injured within a ten-hour period this week.
The plane crash and the discovery Friday evening of a body in a burnt-out house in Moruya, on the NSW South Coast, took the death toll for Australia's bushfire season to 33, including eight firefighters. NSW, with 25 fatalaties, has been the worst-affected state.
