Scrap private school religious discrimination rules, Labor advised

Legal protection allowing private schools to discriminate against students and teachers for their sexual orientation or gender identity should be axed, Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has been advised.
Workplace relations laws should also be overhauled to allow private schools to preference staff and students of the same faith as the institution to allow them to “build a community” around religious beliefs.
