PM wraps up summit sweep, says global standing restored

Anthony Albanese says he has restored Australia’s standing globally but believes it could be some time before he or one of his ministers visits China, saying the relationship needed to be rebuilt one step at a time.

Speaking in Bangkok at the end of a nine-day, three-summit sweep through South-East Asia, the Prime Minister was unfazed that other leaders who broke bread with Chinese President Xi Jinping this week were able to announce afterwards impending visits to Beijing.
