Scott Morrison has abandoned his defence of Bridget McKenzie over her administration of a sports grants program, as internal pressure within the Coalition mounts on her to quit.
A defiant Senator McKenzie rejected speculation she would resign within the next day or two as she continued to protest her innocence.
