Scott Morrison's criticisms of the World Health Organisation have been validated, with an interim report finding the United Nations agency was too slow to respond to the threat of coronavirus pandemic, while also accusing Chinese officials of not doing enough to contain the initial outbreak.

The independent panel reviewing the global handling of the pandemic said the WHO and many countries "ignored" signals about the infectiousness of the coronavirus and urged a "great reset" to avoid future outbreaks of novel diseases and health and economic damage they cause.
