Anzac-class in the firing line as Defence plans navy overhaul

Two more of Australia’s ageing Anzac-class frigates are poised to be mothballed, as the Albanese government puts the final touches on plans for the future of the navy’s warships.
The government is also expected to save the troubled Hunter class frigate program to replace the Anzacs, defying pressure to dump it altogether, although the number of ships will be reduced from nine to six.
