‘On your heads be it’: Joe Longo’s unsaid message to the Senate
The corporate watchdog has refuted claims it is engaging in a cover-up by resisting Senate demands to hand over secret investigation files, a move it said would expose sources and whistleblowers, prejudice ongoing civil litigation, stymie future law enforcement and give crooks an advantage.
The blunt warning from Australian Securities and Investments Commission chairman Joe Longo is the latest development in a stand-off between the regulator and a Senate inquiry led by Liberal senator Andrew Bragg.
