Income tax cuts on the way within weeks

Middle income earners could receive a tax cut within weeks after the government brought forward tax relief worth $17.8 billion to give the COVID-19 crunched economy a much needed boost.

The budget, as forecast, will backdate the stage two tax cuts to July 1 this year. They will also be tweaked to give those on lowest incomes a double tax cut.
