‘No means no progress’: Yes campaign sharpens message

Alarming Indigenous infant mortality rates, and big gaps in employment and life expectancy will be used by the Yes camp to try to claw back ground in the final fortnight before the referendum on the Voice to parliament.

As early voting kicked off in some states on Monday, the trailing Yes campaign launched a new ad created to highlight gaps in social and economic outcomes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The 30-second montage of black and white photos is set against a script reminding voters that rates of deaths among Indigenous children under four are 2.1 times as high as non-Indigenous kids.
