New laws to force business to beef up cyber protection

The federal government will be able to order key infrastructure providers to bolster their protection against cyberattacks as part of sweeping new requirements to be imposed on businesses.
The Albanese government will on Wednesday introduce legislation establishing the first standalone Cyber Security Act after a series of high-profile attacks and reviews identified gaps in the nation’s cyber shield.
