The nation’s peak motoring body is urging the Coalition to engage with Labor over its plans for fuel standards and electric vehicles, rather than force the government into the hands of the Greens and David Pocock.

After Labor’s deal with the Greens on the climate change safeguard mechanism cast doubt over the future of gas investment, the Australian Automobile Association is worried a similar deal on fuel emissions standards could have unintended consequences for both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
