More workers and better training for aged care sector

Almost 34,000 people will receive a subsidised training place qualifying them to work in aged care, as the Morrison government moves to upskill staff and address a worsening labour shortfall linked to Australia’s ageing population.
Under one of the pillars of its $17.7 billion aged care plan, the government has committed $652 million over four years in the budget to a raft of workforce measures.
