Medical research projects set for $14m boost

Genetic testing for heart disease, AI diagnostics and revolutionary treatment for spine osteoarthritis are among new projects backed by the federal government's medical research fund.
Acting Health Minister Alan Tudge will announce more than $14 million in new support on Thursday, providing grants of up to $1 million for 17 innovative projects established by private industry and leading tertiary institutions around the country.
