Victoria faces ‘critical’ point in outbreak
Victorians face a possible second week in lockdown after 11 new COVID-19 cases and a burgeoning aged care outbreak prompted authorities to warn on Monday that the state’s virus situation had become “incredibly serious”.
The new infections ramped up pressure on the federal government over its floundering vaccine rollout, as three new infections occurred in aged care homes despite those residents and workers being part of Phase 1A of the national inoculation plan.
