On August 16, two weeks before Anthony Albanese embarked on what was his 23rd visit to Western Australia since the last election, Business Council of Australia boss Bran Black met South Australian Labor Premier Peter Malinauskas.

The premier was a guest speaker at the BCA’s “Strong Australia” event in Adelaide and, in private, Black took the opportunity to chew the premier’s ear on proposed federal environmental law.
