Federal Labor has increased its lead on the back of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s decision to lift interest rates, giving Scott Morrison just two weeks to close a sizeable gap.

With pre-poll voting to start on Monday and the government to ramp up its attack ads, the latest The Australian Financial Review-Ipsos poll shows Labor could win government in its own right if the numbers hold.
