Labor pro-Israel group backs free trade pact with Netanyahu

Labor’s internal pro-Israel lobby group has backed reopening free trade talks with the Jewish state, saying failing to do so invites accusations of a double standard in pursuing more trade with China despite Beijing’s well-documented human rights violations.

The Australian Financial Review revealed on Tuesday that the Coalition would “reinvigorate” talks with Israel to boost trade and investment ties, including a potential free trade agreement, if it wins the next federal election.
