Jane Halton tapped to lead COVID-19 vaccine review
Former health department boss Jane Halton will lead a snap review of Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine and treatment deals, with a report due to be handed to the federal government within weeks.
Health Minister Mark Butler said he wanted an independent assessment of current stockpiles and ongoing deals to procure vaccine supplies, ensuring the country has adequate supply for coming years. The review will consider orders for oral anti-viral treatments, including molnupiravir and Paxlovid.
