Tens of thousands of workers already stood down or retrenched will be eligible for the Morrison government's $130 billion wage subsidy scheme, with employers to begin being reimbursed from May.

Even employers whose business has been shut down on government orders will receive money to pay employees who cannot do any meaningful work or attend their workplace.
