When both houses of South Australia’s parliament took just 24 hours to unanimously pass new laws kneecapping its peak corruption agency last September, Frank Pangallo, MLC, dedicated the legislative changes he spearheaded to the memory of Doug Barr, a policeman who took his own life while under investigation by the watchdog.

A parliamentary inquiry chaired by Pangallo uncovered how the respected officer took his life after believing a two-year corruption investigation could find him guilty.
