The Morrison government’s $680 million HomeBuilder program, combined with low immigration levels, could put downward pressure on house prices, economists say.

The program, announced on Thursday, will offer up to 27,000 grants of $25,000 to eligible applicants to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home.
