Greens unveil $10b policy to end public education fees

Families would pay nothing to send their children to state schools and would receive $800 per child payments for out-of-pocket costs, under a Greens plan to make public education free.

The $10 billion plan, to be unveiled by schools education spokeswoman Penny Allman-Payne and leader Adam Bandt on Wednesday, will form part of negotiations with Labor in the event of a hung parliament.
