Plibersek puts Environmental Defenders Office on notice
The Albanese government has put the Environmental Defenders Office on notice over its handling of a failed legal action against the Santos Barossa project after Opposition Leader Peter Dutton vowed to strip the “radical” organisation of public funding.
Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek’s office on Tuesday said the EDO needed to take “seriously” this month’s Federal Court judgement, which found it had confected evidence as part of a case seeking to halt Santos’ $5.8 billion gas project in the Timor Sea.
