Call for royal commission appointees to step down
Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John, who was instrumental in campaigning for the royal commission into the abuse of people with a disability, is calling for two of the commissioners to step down because of their role as bureaucrats in social and disability services.
Senator Steele-John told The Australian Financial Review commissioners Barbara Bennett and John Ryan have conflict of interests and he cannot support the inquiry while the two remain in their posts.
