Corruption boss warns on lawyers, consultants and the election
National Anti-Corruption Commission head Paul Brereton says pork-barrelling and fundraising for next year’s election will be a focus for the agency, and warns lawyers and consultants are also in its sights.
However, Commissioner Brereton has pushed back on calls for the NACC to hold public inquiries, likening it to an intelligence agency and saying witnesses were “more comfortable” with secret hearings.
