NSW state minister Andrew Constance is expected to nominate as the Liberal candidate for the federal byelection of Eden-Monaro on Tuesday, after his path was cleared by the withdrawal of his colleague and state Nationals leader, John Barilaro.

Internal party polling conducted late last week showed that of those so far mooted as Coalition candidates, Mr Constance had the greatest chance of success.
