Nationals turncoat George Christensen will pocket more than $100,000 in taxpayers’ cash after joining One Nation and launching a doomed-to-fail bid for the Senate.

Mr Christensen announced he would not recontest his north Queensland seat of Dawson last year for family reasons, and gave a valedictory speech along with other retiring parliamentarians.
