‘Johnny on the spot’: China ban ends at perfect time for beef farmers
The Australian beef industry has forecast a strong year for exports after China lifted its ban on five major processors and as cattle numbers across the country sit at near-record highs.
Bans remain on two exporters, a situation Chinese authorities have blamed on biosecurity concerns, but the relaxation on the wider Australian market has been welcomed as the latest thawing of tense trade relations between Beijing and Canberra.
